Introducing, the fashion-forward Program Directors! (And the dragon!)

Good morning, good MOOOOOOOOOORNING! Humming Bird here at camp, with all your updates and news about CAMP CAMP CAMP CAMP CAMP! I said camp FIVE times, because there are only FIVE MORE DAYS until the CAMPERS ARRIVE! I just can’t contain myself, I need to take a minute……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Okay I’m back!! So what on earth are we up to here at camp? Well, let me tell you!! We have been working, working, working to get camp all set up and ready. What goes into a great camp, you ask? All you need is a pinch of grass, a handful of cleaning supplies, and a dollop of sunshine. Stir in a trained and enthusiastic staff of 80 people, and let it rest for five more days– voilá! Just add campers!

In addition to all the maintenance-y things (like putting awnings above the picnic tables, learning how to plunge toilets, and setting up the tipis) we have been busy with CABIN ASSIGNMENTS! All our counselors have moved into our new homes for first session, and we’re starting to think about cabin themes… stay tuned for those! We’ve also received lists of our campers, and we’ve begun calling camp families to introduce ourselves! Keep an eye out for phone calls, folks!

It’s pretty different around here without campers, but some things have remained the same– yesterday we celebrated our very own counselor DRESS IN THE DARK DAY! Check out some cool pictures below of our wacky outfits! And our ropes course is still here, even though campers aren’t– our beautiful ropes staff have been busy putting our entire staff through the course– enjoy a picture of two of our counselors working together on low ropes!

I’m off to spruce up my dress-in-the-light outfit– my wings are feeling awfully boring and light today! Stay tuned for more updates on the camp set-up, and eventual CAMPER ARRIVAL!

Humming while I work,

Humming Bird
