Preparation of Camper Medication
Our longtime health staff is dedicated to your children’s well-being. Please help support HVC’s nurses by taking care of these important tasks in a timely manner and let us know if you have questions.
ALL PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS MUST BE PREPACKAGED BY A PHARMACY.
OTC medications, vitamins, supplements, and topical creams must come with a doctor's order and be in their sealed, original container or be prepackaged by a pharmacy.
You have two options for pre-packaging:
Belfast Drug Company - Most popular option. Local pharmacy near camp. Call 207-338-0441, request a pre-packaged medication for Hidden Valley Camp.
It takes up to a week for Belfast Drug to prepackage the medications. Campers arrive on Sunday, Belfast Drug closes at 2:00pm on Sundays. So plan ahead!
Pack My RX - Specializes in camp and school medications.
Important Notes
Families CANNOT package medications at home, even OTC medications.
When speaking with your doctor, please tell them you need prepackaged medications and provide them with the details of the pharmacy of your choice (Belfast Drug or Pack My RX).
Liquid Medications - Chewables are preferred for daily OTC meds. If unavailable, please send in manufacturer sealed containers.
Delivering Packaged Medication to Camp
Have the prepackaged medications shipped directly to HVC, attn. Nurse.
CAR: Bring meds to camp when you drop children off.
BUS: Hand medication directly to the bus chaperone.
PLANE: Please mail to camp 10+ days prior to arrival day.
