Intersession
A few days ago marked the end of our first session of Summer 2026. Buses rolled out, cars pulled through camp, and our wonderful campers headed home to be reunited with their families after four unforgettable weeks in the Valley.
Since our last update, so much has happened—so here's a look back at an incredible final week together.
We had our final Cabin Night of the session on Friday evening. While it may have been the last one, it served up memories that will remain with us for days, weeks, months, and even years to come! Earlier that day, campers laced up their cleats and headed to the soccer (football... sorry, Europe!) field to take on the counselors in our biannual Camper vs. Counselor Soccer Match. Although no winner was crowned this time, the game delivered a thrilling 10-goal spectacle that had all of us cheering from start to finish.
Saturday brought another Trip Lazy Day. Our younger campers enjoyed an afternoon at the bowling alley, while our older campers stayed at camp for a variety of Counselor Day activities: they stacked some cups to build pyramids, battled it out in tug-of-war, had a dance party, “swam” in the kiddies pool, and enetrtained us all with their best counselor impressions!
Later that evening, the land of Disney princes and princesses came to life in the Rec Hall as we all sat down for a short play, originally written by two of our very own counselors!
Sunday marked our final day of classes for the session, and it was the perfect send-off. We gathered in the backyard to enjoy one last Rock Band Lunch performance before coming together for our final Sharing Night on the Rec Hall deck later that evening.
On Monday, the entire camp headed to the movie theatre for an afternoon together before returning to camp for this session's musical production of Frozen, based on Walt Disney Animation Studios' beloved film. It was a spectacular performance that showcased the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.
It was all fun fun fun on Tuesday as we all spent our day having fuzzy time and having fun in the backyard for Fair Day. We started bright and early with the annual Road Race, beginning at the top of Camp Road and finishing in the front yard. It was fantastic seeing all those runners and cheering them as they approached the finish line. The competition continued with the Camper vs. Counselor Basketball Game, where the campers came out absolutely on fire, defeating the counselors by 5 points in impressive fashion.
We also enjoyed the Brumby Show, the Art Show and Apprentice project presentations, and the Fair Day Dance later that evening.
Packing Day brought one final camp tradition: the always-delicious Lobster Banquet. That evening, we returned to Pinegrove, where we ended our session the same way we had begun it four weeks earlier. Surrounded by friends, songs, laughter, and a few happy tears, it was the perfect place to celebrate everything we had experienced together before saying our goodbyes.
