The Final Five

Departure Day is fast approaching and we have a few more things to get through before we say goodbye to all the friends we made during this session, and hello to the ones who will be joining us in the next session.

Three nights ago, we had our Cabin Night evening programme, and although this was the last one for the session, it was nothing short of brilliant as we had amazing activities taking place all around camp. The smell of pizza spread wide across the front yard as one cabin spent their night baking in the stone oven, whilst Fiddler’s Green was making smores by their fire pit, and Loons had a sausage barbecue going on (hmmm, that’s a lot chefs we have). On the other end of camp, we had fireworks going off at the Deer Meadows field! One cabin, however, decided to stay on the cooler side of things and went for a sip-n-slide party!

The following day saw us debating Soccer v Football as we all had our jerseys and banners out to watch the Campers v The Counselors match during interest groups. The supporters showed up, and the teams showed off in a high intensity, nail-biting, beautiful game, which saw the counselors, for the first time in a long time, get the victory as the match ended 3-2.

That very night, we had Electives, which was also the last one for the session. We played Capture the Flag, had a dance-off party, went for a quick dip at the pool (FUN!), made cool glass beads, zip-lined down the hill, tapped into our inner Bob Ross and made cool paintings, and went on a secret tour in The Green Pig!

And on our day of lazying around, the younger half of camp took a trip to the candlepin bowling alley, whilst the older half stayed on camp for Sports Day. Meanwhile, the Apprentices had a nice day in Camden as they went to watch the Arts festival.

Once everyone was back on camp, it was cameras, lights, and action at the rec hall as we all sat down to enjoy the play which was (drum roll please)… A WRINKLE IN TIME!

We really had a good four weeks with everyone at camp and hope to have an even better time in the last five days, with more updates to be shared in due course.
