Let’s Catch Up
Hello Everyone!
It has been an action-packed last few days here at camp since our last update a few days ago — and we have plenty of unforgettable moments to share!
We kicked things off earlier this week with one of our most gloriously weird traditions: Baby Food! If you have no idea what that is, it’s pretty simple — a few campers, AWACs, and counselors get chosen to take turns being fed mystery baby food all whilst being blindfolded…from a variety of spoons ranging from your everyday teaspoon to a GIANT wooden ladle! We honestly had some surprisingly delicious bites…and some that should’ve stayed in the baby aisle. The grand finale featured one unlucky counselor (sorry Hudson) getting drenched in applesauce (yuck).
Then came Bazinga! — a hilarious camp tradition making its way back, where counselors get to switch cabins for the duration of the evening programme and return to their original cabins at the end of programme.
Now, this is where it gets interesting…the next evening things got ‘creepy’ in the best way possible with our camper-favourite Wheel of Misfortune. A night of thrills, comedy, and all-round chaos. This session we got pulled into the Wondrous World of Peanut and Pollie, a make-shift kids TV show and we had to survive ‘bizarre’ and ‘spooky’ episodes to find our way out. Inbetween each scene, the audience was greeted by the wheel mascot, Gruesome, who storms the rec hall picking willing campers for various short ‘disgusting’ yet rewarding games. It was gross. It was hilarious. It was perfect! The winners of each game earned cool prizes for their whole cabin, prizes that involed their counselors, prizes as innocent as getting a cake baked for your cabin, or, giving a counselor a makeover, or even as painfully hilarious as waxing one’s legs!
Midweek brought us Electives, where campers got to choose an activity to do for the night from a long line of available activities presented by the counselors.
Then we had a triple threat of activities on our Lazy Day, Candlepin bowling, Mad Science, and Valleyfest! our epic camper talent show, where we had over 30 acts ready to go! The stage lit up with comdey, singing, dancing, and even more. The audience was entertained and the performers got cheered!
We wrapped things up last night with the Decades Dance! Campers and Counselors showed up dressed in outifts from every era imaginable—60s hippies, 90s pop, early 2000s, and even the FUTURE!
Stay posted for more adventures to come!
