We’re Halfway Through!

It has been a great first two weeks of first session 2025, and we have just moved into the second half of it! The last few days have been nothing short of amazing as we shared what we did in the first two weeks on Sharing Night, got a visit from one of our old friends, had a Junk Food Day special treat, and hung out on our Pyjama Day!

On Sharing Night, we got to experience a live performance from our Rock Band and music ensemble, with a special appearance by Biggeth! (Our Marimba). We also had Drums from Around the World. We had dance choreographies from our Contemporary Jazz classes and got a little preview of the Play and Musical that we’ll get to fully see in a few weeks. The Cooking class had us drooling in our seats as they brought out a massive chocolate cake onto the stage! Our laughters echoed through the valley as we witnessed hilarious skits from the period 1 Improv class and the Kayaking class — whom decided they’d reenact the funny conversations they’ve had with their counselor.

This year’s Junk Food Day was a special one — we had candy falling from the sky again! an old HVC tradition that gets to live once more. Speaking of old traditions, Kim Harris has been a part of the Hidden Valley community for at least 20 years, and this year was no different. She paid us an evening visit and had us tramping, and tramping, trying to make Heaven our home! (we love you Kim as we all sing in unison!)

And as a reward for our busy schedule across the few days, we got to relax on the laziest of all Hidden Valley Camp Lazy Days: Pyjama Day! Campers got to sign up for a new set of classes for the remaining two weeks of the session as we welcomed a few new other ones into the community! And at the end of all the hanging out, we hung out some more in the backyard for our older half Teen Party whilst the younger half ran through Dramapalooza at the Deer Meadows Field.
