Wrap Up of This Week!
It is almost hard to believe it has been almost a week since Arrival Day! Campers have settled into the rhythm of camp life and rolling into all the fun. From exciting evening programmes like Trivia Night, Electives, and Movie Night, to a rather energetic Lazy Day — there has been no lack of smiles, laughter, and summer fun.
Evening Programs
We ended class day 2 with an epic night of Family Feud (Camp Feud?), where cabins and counselors battled it off in a high-energy-HVC-themed trivia showdown to find out who really knows what the survey says!
The next day we all lined up for Electives! Our counselors led various activities across camp: we played Capture the Flag, had a karaoke dance party, played Knockout at the basketball court, caught some fish at Ledge Pond, and made collages amongst other things.
Lazy Day
It was a day of high seas and higher speeds as our campers enjoyed being swashbuckling Pirates — “RRRRRRR” — or smooth-rollers — “SKRRR”.
Our younger campers walked the plank into a pirate adventure, crafting their own hats, drawing their own maps, engaging in intense water fights, hunting for the hidden treasure, and trying to make the captain laugh! Meanwhile, the older half set sail for the skate rink, where they cruised around with friends, showing off their best moves and making memories.
And at the end of the day, we all enjoyed a moment of relaxation by the HVC pool. It was a day of thrill, chills, and pirates cheers — aye!
Weather
The past few days the weather has been pretty hot, but not to worry as plenty of sunscreen was applied and plenty of water was consumed. With that being said, today has took a turn for the worst with schvitz and wind heading over the valley.
