Full Swing!
It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for — class day one!! (woop-woop). Yesterday’s Orientation Day saw campers take turns going around in their cabin groups doing various activities, such as having their photo taken, going on a tour of camp, hanging out in the backyard, evaluatiing their swimming skills at the pool or lake, and ofcourse signing up for their first set of classes! At the end of the day, we silently walked up the hill to our second evening programme of the session, Opening Pinegrove.
The weather, although windy, was great yesterday with the same being true for today morning. It looks to be a nice, cool, sunny day which means the swim classes can expect to meet out at the pool and lake, whilst the football (soccer) team will be running through their drills at the field.
Today’s high of 75° F (24° C) means water bottles will be roaming all around camp and sunscreen being the top accessory. Not to fear if you’re in the nature art class though, they can sit under the shaded gazebo and sketch away!
Orientation Day gave everyone a chance to explore their class options, find out who their teachers are, and what periods they teach, and choose what they wanted to focus on. Campers chose classes from a range of; sports, arts, theatre, waterfront, animal care and horseback riding, and other miscellaneous classes which are all the really weird, out of the ordinary, fun and entertaining ones that the campers enjoy.
As for tonight—cabin groups can look forward to Cabin Night, which kicks off right after dinner. No details yet, but it’s always one of the best bonding nights early in the session.
We’ll be back with more class updates throughout the week. For now, it’s time to refill those water bottles and keep the day moving.
